	¹וַיַּ֗עַל [3] Revi'a נָחָשׁ֙ [3] Pashta הָעַמּוֹנִ֔י [2] Zaqef וַיִּ֖חַן [2] Tip'cha עַל־יָבֵ֣ישׁ גִּלְעָ֑ד [1] Munach Etnachta וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ [4] Qadma Geresh כׇּל־אַנְשֵׁ֤י יָבֵישׁ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta אֶל־נָחָ֔שׁ [2] Zaqef כְּרׇת־לָ֥נוּ בְרִ֖ית [2] Merkha Tip'cha וְנַֽעַבְדֶֽךָּ׃ [1] Silluq		¹Then he went up, [3] Nahash [3] the Ammonite, [2] and he encamped [2] against Jabesh Gilead; [1] and they said [4] all the men of Jabesh, [3] to Nahash, [2] “Make with us a covenant, [2] and we will serve you.” [1]
	²וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם [3] Munach Revi'a נָחָשׁ֙ [3] Pashta הָעַמּוֹנִ֔י [2] Zaqef בְּזֹאת֙ [3] Pashta אֶכְרֹ֣ת לָכֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef בִּנְק֥וֹר לָכֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha כׇּל־עֵ֣ין יָמִ֑ין [1] Munach Etnachta וְשַׂמְתִּ֥יהָ חֶרְפָּ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha עַל־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq		²And he said to them, [3] Nahash [3] the Ammonite, [2] “By this [3] will I make it with you, [2] by gouging out your [2] every right eye; [1] and I will make it a reproach [2] on all Israel.” [1]
	³וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ אֵלָ֜יו [4] Qadma Geresh זִקְנֵ֣י יָבֵ֗ישׁ [3] Munach Revi'a הֶ֤רֶף לָ֙נוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef וְנִשְׁלְחָה֙ [3] Pashta מַלְאָכִ֔ים [2] Zaqef בְּכֹ֖ל [2] Tip'cha גְּב֣וּל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Munach Etnachta וְאִם־אֵ֥ין מוֹשִׁ֛יעַ [3] Merkha Tevir אֹתָ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha וְיָצָ֥אנוּ אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		³And they said to him, [4] the elders of Jabesh, [3] “Give us [3] seven days, [2] that we may send [3] messengers [2] to all [2] the territory of Israel; [1] and if there is no one to deliver [3] us, [2] we will come out to you.” [1]
	⁴וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ הַמַּלְאָכִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta גִּבְעַ֣ת שָׁא֔וּל [2] Munach Zaqef וַיְדַבְּר֥וּ הַדְּבָרִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha בְּאׇזְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta וַיִּשְׂא֧וּ כׇל־הָעָ֛ם [3] Darga Tevir אֶת־קוֹלָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha וַיִּבְכּֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq		⁴Then the messengers came [3] to Gibeah of Saul, [2] and they spoke the words [2] in the ears of the people; [1] and all the people lifted up [3] their voice, [2] and they wept. [1]
	⁵וְהִנֵּ֣ה שָׁא֗וּל [3] Munach Revi'a בָּ֣א אַחֲרֵ֤י הַבָּקָר֙ [3] Munach Mapakh Pashta מִן־הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שָׁא֔וּל [2] Munach Zaqef מַה־לָּעָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha כִּ֣י יִבְכּ֑וּ [1] Munach Etnachta וַ֨יְסַפְּרוּ־ל֔וֹ [2] Qadma Zaqef אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha אַנְשֵׁ֥י יָבֵֽישׁ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		⁵And behold, Saul [3] came following the cattle [3] from the field, [2] and Saul said, [2] “What's happened to the people [2] that they are weeping?” [1] And they recounted to him [2] the words [2] of the men of Jabesh. [1]
	⁶וַתִּצְלַ֤ח רֽוּחַ־אֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta עַל־שָׁא֔וּל [2] Zaqef בשמעו *כְּשׇׁמְע֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה [1] Munach Etnachta וַיִּ֥חַר אַפּ֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq		⁶And the Spirit of God rushed [3] on Saul [2] when he heard [2] these words; [1] and his anger burned [2] exceedingly. [1]
	⁷וַיִּקַּח֩ צֶ֨מֶד בָּקָ֜ר [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh וַֽיְנַתְּחֵ֗הוּ [3] Revi'a וַיְשַׁלַּ֞ח [4] Gershayim בְּכׇל־גְּב֣וּל יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ [3] Munach Zarqa בְּיַ֣ד הַמַּלְאָכִ֣ים ׀ לֵאמֹר֒ [2] Munach Munach Segol אֲשֶׁר֩ אֵינֶ֨נּוּ יֹצֵ֜א [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh אַחֲרֵ֤י שָׁאוּל֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta וְאַחַ֣ר שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל [2] Munach Zaqef כֹּ֥ה יֵעָשֶׂ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha לִבְקָר֑וֹ [1] Etnachta וַיִּפֹּ֤ל פַּֽחַד־יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta עַל־הָעָ֔ם [2] Zaqef וַיֵּצְא֖וּ [2] Tip'cha כְּאִ֥ישׁ אֶחָֽד׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		⁷And he took a pair of oxen [4] and he cut them in pieces, [3] and he sent them [4] throughout all the territory of Israel [3] by the hand of messengers saying, [2] “Whoever doesn’t come out [4] after Saul [3] and after Samuel, [2] thus shall it be done [2] to his oxen.” [1] And the dread of the LORD fell [3] on the people, [2] and they came out [2] as one man. [1]
	⁸וַֽיִּפְקְדֵ֖ם [2] Tip'cha בְּבָ֑זֶק [1] Etnachta וַיִּהְי֤וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta שְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵא֣וֹת אֶ֔לֶף [2] Munach Munach Zaqef וְאִ֥ישׁ יְהוּדָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אָֽלֶף׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		⁸And he counted them [2] at Bezek; [1] and the children of Israel were [3] three hundred thousand, [2] and the men of Judah [2] thirty thousand. [1]
	⁹וַיֹּאמְר֞וּ [4] Gershayim לַמַּלְאָכִ֣ים הַבָּאִ֗ים [3] Munach Revi'a כֹּ֤ה תֹֽאמְרוּן֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta לְאִישׁ֙ [3] Pashta יָבֵ֣ישׁ גִּלְעָ֔ד [2] Munach Zaqef מָחָ֛ר [3] Tevir תִּֽהְיֶֽה־לָכֶ֥ם תְּשׁוּעָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha בחם *כְּחֹ֣ם הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ [1] Munach Etnachta וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ הַמַּלְאָכִ֗ים [3] Munach Revi'a וַיַּגִּ֛ידוּ [3] Tevir לְאַנְשֵׁ֥י יָבֵ֖ישׁ [2] Merkha Tip'cha וַיִּשְׂמָֽחוּ׃ [1] Silluq		⁹And they said [4] to the messengers who had come, [3] “Thus you shall say [3] to the men [3] of Jabesh Gilead, [2] ‘Tomorrow [3] your deliverance will come, [2] by the time the sun is hot.’ ” [1] And the messengers went, [3] and they told [3] the men of Jabesh, [2] and they were glad. [1]
	¹⁰וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ [3] Pashta אַנְשֵׁ֣י יָבֵ֔ישׁ [2] Munach Zaqef מָחָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha נֵצֵ֣א אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם לָ֔נוּ [2] Munach Zaqef כְּכׇל־הַטּ֖וֹב [2] Tip'cha בְּעֵינֵיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq ס		¹⁰And they said, [3] the men of Jabesh, [2] “Tomorrow [2] we will come out to you; [1] and you shall do to us [2] all that seems good [2] in your eyes.” [1] §
	¹¹וַיְהִ֣י מִֽמׇּחֳרָ֗ת [3] Munach Revi'a וַיָּ֨שֶׂם שָׁא֣וּל אֶת־הָעָם֮ [3] Qadma Munach Zarqa שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה רָאשִׁים֒ [2] Munach Segol וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ בְתוֹךְ־הַֽמַּחֲנֶה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta בְּאַשְׁמֹ֣רֶת הַבֹּ֔קֶר [2] Munach Zaqef וַיַּכּ֥וּ אֶת־עַמּ֖וֹן [2] Merkha Tip'cha עַד־חֹ֣ם הַיּ֑וֹם [1] Munach Etnachta וַיְהִ֤י הַנִּשְׁאָרִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta וַיָּפֻ֔צוּ [2] Zaqef וְלֹ֥א נִשְׁאֲרוּ־בָ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha שְׁנַ֥יִם יָֽחַד׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		¹¹And when the next day came, [3] Saul made the people [3] three companies, [2] and they went into the middle of the camp [3] in the morning watch, [2] and they struck down the Ammonites [2] until the heat of the day; [1] and those who remained, [3] they were scattered, [2] and were not left of them [2] two together. [1]
	¹²וַיֹּ֤אמֶר הָעָם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta אֶל־שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef מִ֣י הָאֹמֵ֔ר [2] Munach Zaqef שָׁא֖וּל [2] Tip'cha יִמְלֹ֣ךְ עָלֵ֑ינוּ [1] Munach Etnachta תְּנ֥וּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha וּנְמִיתֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq		¹²And the people said [3] to Samuel, [2] “Who is he who said, [2] ‘Shall Saul [2] reign over us?’ [1] Bring those men, [2] that we may put them to death!” [1]
	¹³וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שָׁא֔וּל [2] Munach Zaqef לֹא־יוּמַ֥ת אִ֖ישׁ [2] Merkha Tip'cha בַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta כִּ֥י הַיּ֛וֹם [3] Merkha Tevir עָשָֽׂה־יְהֹוָ֥ה תְּשׁוּעָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq		¹³And Saul said, [2] “No one shall be put to death [2] today; [1] for today [3] the LORD has worked deliverance [2] in Israel.” [1]
	¹⁴וַיֹּ֤אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵל֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta אֶל־הָעָ֔ם [2] Zaqef לְכ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha וְנֵלְכָ֣ה הַגִּלְגָּ֑ל [1] Munach Etnachta וּנְחַדֵּ֥שׁ שָׁ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁴And Samuel said [3] to the people, [2] “Come! [2] Let’s go to Gilgal; [1] and let us renew there [2] the kingship.” [1]
	¹⁵וַיֵּלְכ֨וּ כׇל־הָעָ֜ם [4] Qadma Geresh הַגִּלְגָּ֗ל [3] Revi'a וַיַּמְלִ֩כוּ֩ שָׁ֨ם אֶת־שָׁא֜וּל [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh לִפְנֵ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta בַּגִּלְגָּ֔ל [2] Zaqef וַיִּזְבְּחוּ־שָׁ֛ם [3] Tevir זְבָחִ֥ים שְׁלָמִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta וַיִּשְׂמַ֨ח שָׁ֥ם שָׁא֛וּל [3] Qadma Merkha Tevir וְכׇל־אַנְשֵׁ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Merkha Tip'cha עַד־מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq פ		¹⁵And they went, all the people, [4] to Gilgal, [3] and there they made Saul king [4] before the LORD [3] in Gilgal, [2] and there they offered [3] sacrifices of peace offerings [2] before the LORD; [1] and there Saul rejoiced [3] and all the men of Israel [2] greatly.
