1 Now Moses, [3] he was pasturing [3] the flock [3] of Jethro his father-in-law, [2] to the farthest edge of the wilderness, [2] to the mountain of God, [2] to Horeb. [1] |
2 Then he appeared, [4 4] the angel of the LORD to him, [3] in a flame of fire [2] from the midst of a bush; [1] and behold the bush [3] was burning with fire, [2] it was not consumed. [1] |
3 And Moses said, [2] “I will turn aside now and see [2] the great sight, [2] this; [1] the bush is not burned.” [1] |
[2] Tip'cha |
4 When the LORD saw [2] that he had turned aside to look; [1] from the midst of the bush [3] “Moses! Moses!” [2] |
5 And he said, [2] “Don’t come near; [1] from your feet, [2] which you [3] are standing on, [2] it is.” [1] |
6 And he said, [3] “I [3] am the God of your father, [2] the God of Isaac, [2] and the God of Jacob.” [1] his face, [2] to look [2] at God. [1] |
7 Then the LORD said, [2] the affliction of my people [2] who are in Egypt; [1] because of their taskmasters, [2] their pains. [1] |
8 So I have come down [4] to deliver them [4] from the hand of the Egyptians, [3] from that land, [2] and spacious, [2] flowing with milk [2] and honey; [1] and the Hittite, [2] and the Perizzite, [2] and the Jebusite. [1] |
9 And now, [2] the cry of distress of the children of Israel, [2] it has come to me; [1] the oppression [2] are oppressing them. [1] |
10 So come now, [2] and I will send you [2] to Pharaoh; [1] my people the children of Israel, [2] from Egypt.” [1] |
11 But Moses said [3] to God, [2] that I should go [2] to Pharaoh; [1] the children of Israel [2] from Egypt?” [1] |
12 And he said, [3 3] “I will be with you. [2] that I, [2] I have sent you; [1] from Egypt, [2] God [2] this mountain.” [1] |
13 But Moses said [4] to God, [3] to the children of Israel, [2] ‘The God of your fathers, [2] he has sent me to you;’ [1] what should I say [2] to them?” [1] |
14 And God said [3] to Moses, [2] who I am;” [1] “Thus shall you say [3] to the children of Israel, [2] he has sent me to you.’ ” [1] |
15 And God said further [4] to Moses, [3] to the children of Israel, [2] the God of your fathers, [3] the God of Isaac, [3] and the God of Jacob, [2] and this is how I am to be remembered [2] for generation after generation. [1] |
16 Go and gather [4] the elders of Israel, [3] the God of your fathers, [3] he has appeared to me, [2] of Isaac and of Jacob, [2] saying; [1] you, [2] in Egypt. [1] |

18 And they will listen [2] to your voice; [1] you and the elders of Israel, [4] to the king of Egypt, [3] the God of the Hebrews, [3] he has met with us. [2] a journey of three days [3] into the wilderness, [2] to the LORD our God.’ [1] |

19 Now I know [2] he will not permit you, [3] the king of Egypt, [2] to go; [1] by a mighty hand. [1] |
20 So I will stretch out my hand [3] and I will strike Egypt [2] my wonders [2] among them; [1] he will let you go. [1] |
21 And I will grant [3] this people favor [2] in the eyes of the Egyptians; [1] that when you go, [2] empty-handed. [1] |
22 For each woman shall ask of her neighbor [3] and of her who visits her house, [2] and articles of gold, [2] and clothing; [1] on your sons [3] and on your daughters, [2] the Egyptians.” [1] |
