[2] Etnachta |
1 But [3] hear now O Job [3] my speech; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
2 See now, [3] I open my mouth; [2] in my mouth. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
3 The uprightness of my heart are my words; [2] they will speak sincerely. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
4 The Spirit of God has made me; [2] it gives me life. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
5 Answer me if you can; [2] take your stand. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 Behold, I am just like you [3] before God; [2] I was formed, I too. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
7 Behold fear of me, [3] it should not terrify you; [2] on you it should not be heavy. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
8 Indeed [3] you have said in my hearing; [2] I heard, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
9 ‘I am pure, [3] without transgression; [2] and no iniquity [2] have I. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
10 Yet fault [3] with me he finds; [2] to him. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
11 He puts in the shackles [3] my feet; [2] all my paths.’ [1] |
[1] Silluq |
12 But in this you are not right, [3] I will answer you; [2] more than man. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
13 Why [3] against him do you contend; [2] he does not account for? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
14 For once God speaks; [2] yet no one perceives it, [1] |
15 in a dream, [4] a vision of the night, [3] on men; [2] on a bed, [1] |

16 then he opens [3] the ears of men; [2] he seals, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
17 to turn aside [3] man from (wrong) deeds; [2] he will suppress. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
18 He keeps back his soul [3] from the pit; [2] from perishing by the sword, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
19 or he is chastened with pain [3] on his bed; [2] continually, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
20 so that his life abhors [3] bread; [2] dainty food. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
21 His flesh wastes away [3] from sight; [2] once unseen. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
22 And it draws near to the pit, [3] his soul; [2] to those who bring death. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
23 “If there is beside him [4] an angel, [3] one out of a thousand; [2] his uprightness, [1] |
24 וַיְחֻנֶּ֗נּוּ [3] Revi'i וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i פְּ֭דָעֵהוּ [3] Dechi מֵרֶ֥דֶת שָׁ֗חַת [3/2] Revi'i |
24 and he is gracious to him, [3] and he says, [3] ‘Deliver him [3] from going down to the pit, [3/2] |
[1] Silluq |
25 let his flesh become fresh [3] more than a child’s; [2] to the days of his youthful vigor. [1] |
26 יֶעְתַּ֤ר אֶל־אֱל֨וֹהַּ ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh וַיִּרְצֵ֗הוּ [3] Revi'i בִּתְרוּעָ֑ה [2] Etnachta צִדְקָתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
26 He prays to God [4] and he accepts him, [3] with a shout of joy; [2] his righteousness. [1] |
[3/2] Revi'i |
27 He sings [4] to men [3] ‘I have sinned, [3] and uprightness I have perverted, [3/2] |
[1] Silluq |
28 He has ransomed my soul [3] from going down to the pit; [2] on the light it will look.’ [1] |

[1] Silluq |
32 If you have anything to say, answer me; [2] for I desire to justify you. [1] |
