	¹וַֽיְהִי֙ [3] Pashta דְּבַר־יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef אֶל־יוֹנָ֥ה בֶן־אֲמִתַּ֖י [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq		¹Now it came, [3] the word of the LORD [2] to Jonah the son of Amittai [2] saying, [1]
	²ק֠וּם [4] TelishaG לֵ֧ךְ אֶל־נִֽינְוֵ֛ה [3] Tevir הָעִ֥יר הַגְּדוֹלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha וּקְרָ֣א עָלֶ֑יהָ [1] Etnachta כִּֽי־עָלְתָ֥ה רָעָתָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha לְפָנָֽי׃ [1] Silluq		²“Arise, [4] go to Nineveh [3] the great city [2] and proclaim against it; [1] for their wickedness has come up [2] before me.” [1]
	³וַיָּ֤קׇם יוֹנָה֙ [3] Pashta לִבְרֹ֣חַ תַּרְשִׁ֔ישָׁה [2] Zaqef מִלִּפְנֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta וַיֵּ֨רֶד יָפ֜וֹ [4] Geresh וַיִּמְצָ֥א אֳנִיָּ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh בָּאָ֣ה תַרְשִׁ֗ישׁ [3] Revi'i וַיִּתֵּ֨ן שְׂכָרָ֜הּ [4] Geresh וַיֵּ֤רֶד בָּהּ֙ [3] Pashta לָב֤וֹא עִמָּהֶם֙ [3] Pashta תַּרְשִׁ֔ישָׁה [2] Zaqef מִלִּפְנֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq		³But Jonah rose up [3] to flee to Tarshish, [2] from before [2] the LORD; [1] and he went down to Joppa, [4] and he found a ship [4] which was going to Tarshish, [3] so he paid its fare [4] and he went down into it [3] to go with them [3] to Tarshish, [2] from before [2] the LORD. [1]
	⁴וַֽיהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i הֵטִ֤יל רֽוּחַ־גְּדוֹלָה֙ [3] Pashta אֶל־הַיָּ֔ם [2] Zaqef וַיְהִ֥י סַֽעַר־גָּד֖וֹל [2] Tip'cha בַּיָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta וְהָ֣אֳנִיָּ֔ה [2] Zaqef חִשְּׁבָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לְהִשָּׁבֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq		⁴But the LORD, [3] he sent out a great wind [3] on the sea, [2] and there was a mighty storm [2] on the sea; [1] so that the ship [2] was likely [2] to break up. [1]
	⁵וַיִּֽירְא֣וּ הַמַּלָּחִ֗ים [3] Revi'i וַֽיִּזְעֲקוּ֮ [3] Zarqa אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־אֱלֹהָיו֒ [2] Segol וַיָּטִ֨לוּ אֶת־הַכֵּלִ֜ים [4] Geresh אֲשֶׁ֤ר בָּֽאֳנִיָּה֙ [3] Pashta אֶל־הַיָּ֔ם [2] Zaqef לְהָקֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha מֵֽעֲלֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta וְיוֹנָ֗ה [3] Revi'i יָרַד֙ [3] Pashta אֶל־יַרְכְּתֵ֣י הַסְּפִינָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וַיִּשְׁכַּ֖ב [2] Tip'cha וַיֵּרָדַֽם׃ [1] Silluq		⁵Then the sailors were afraid, [3] and they cried for help [3] each man to his gods, [2] and they threw the cargo [4] which was in the ship [3] into the sea [2] to lighten [2] the ship; [1] but Jonah, [3] he had gone down [3] into the innermost parts of the ship, [2] and he was lying down, [2] and he had fallen fast asleep. [1]
	⁶וַיִּקְרַ֤ב אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta רַ֣ב הַחֹבֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef וַיֹּ֥אמֶר ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha מַה־לְּךָ֣ נִרְדָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta ק֚וּם [3] Yetiv קְרָ֣א אֶל־אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef אוּלַ֞י [4] Gershayim יִתְעַשֵּׁ֧ת הָאֱלֹהִ֛ים [3] Tevir לָ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha וְלֹ֥א נֹאבֵֽד׃ [1] Silluq		⁶So he came to him, [3] the ship master, [2] and he said to him, [2] “Why are you sleeping? [1] Arise, [3] call on your God! [2] Maybe [4] the God will give thought [3] to us, [2] so that we won’t perish.” [1]
	⁷וַיֹּאמְר֞וּ [4] Gershayim אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֗הוּ [3] Revi'i לְכוּ֙ [3] Pashta וְנַפִּ֣ילָה גֽוֹרָל֔וֹת [2] Zaqef וְנֵ֣דְעָ֔ה [2] Zaqef בְּשֶׁלְּמִ֛י [3] Tevir הָרָעָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את [2] Tip'cha לָ֑נוּ [1] Etnachta וַיַּפִּ֙לוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta גּֽוֹרָל֔וֹת [2] Zaqef וַיִּפֹּ֥ל הַגּוֹרָ֖ל [2] Tip'cha עַל־יוֹנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq		⁷And they said, [4] all of them to each other, [3] “Come! [3] And let’s cast lots, [2] that we may know [2] who is responsible for [3] this evil [2] that is on us.” [1] So they cast [3 3] lots, [2] and the lot fell [2] on Jonah. [1]
	⁸וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֔יו [2] Zaqef הַגִּידָה־נָּ֣א לָ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef בַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר [3] Tevir לְמִי־הָרָעָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את [2] Tip'cha לָ֑נוּ [1] Etnachta מַה־מְּלַאכְתְּךָ֙ [3] Pashta וּמֵאַ֣יִן תָּב֔וֹא [2] Zaqef מָ֣ה אַרְצֶ֔ךָ [2] Zaqef וְאֵֽי־מִזֶּ֥ה עַ֖ם [2] Tip'cha אָֽתָּה׃ [1] Silluq		⁸Then they said to him, [2] “Tell us, please, [2] for [3] whose cause this evil [2] is on us. [1] What is your occupation? [3] And from where do you come? [2] What is your country? [2] And of what people [2] are you?” [1]
	⁹וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha עִבְרִ֣י אָנֹ֑כִי [1] Etnachta וְאֶת־יְהֹוָ֞ה [4] Gershayim אֱלֹהֵ֤י הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta אֲנִ֣י יָרֵ֔א [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֥ה אֶת־הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha וְאֶת־הַיַּבָּשָֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq		⁹And he said to them, [2] “I am a Hebrew; [1] and the LORD [4] the God of the heavens, [3 3] I fear, [2] who made the sea [2] and the dry land.” [1]
	¹⁰וַיִּֽירְא֤וּ הָֽאֲנָשִׁים֙ [3] Pashta יִרְאָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וַיֹּאמְר֥וּ אֵלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha מַה־זֹּ֣את עָשִׂ֑יתָ [1] Etnachta כִּֽי־יָדְע֣וּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים [3] Revi'i כִּֽי־מִלִּפְנֵ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta ה֣וּא בֹרֵ֔חַ [2] Zaqef כִּ֥י הִגִּ֖יד [2] Tip'cha לָהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁰Then the men feared [3] a great fear, [2] and they said to him, [2] “What is this you have done?” [1] For the men knew [3] that from before the LORD [3] he was fleeing, [2] because he had told [2] them. [1]
	¹¹וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta מַה־נַּ֣עֲשֶׂה לָּ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef וְיִשְׁתֹּ֥ק הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha מֵֽעָלֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta כִּ֥י הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha הוֹלֵ֥ךְ וְסֹעֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq		¹¹Then they said to him, [3] “What shall we do to you, [2] that the sea may be calm [2] for us?” [1] For the sea [2] grew more and more stormy. [1]
	¹²וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i שָׂא֙וּנִי֙ [3 3] Pashta וַהֲטִילֻ֣נִי אֶל־הַיָּ֔ם [2] Zaqef וְיִשְׁתֹּ֥ק הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha מֵֽעֲלֵיכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta כִּ֚י [3] Yetiv יוֹדֵ֣עַ אָ֔נִי [2] Zaqef כִּ֣י בְשֶׁלִּ֔י [2] Zaqef הַסַּ֧עַר הַגָּד֛וֹל [3] Tevir הַזֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha עֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq		¹²And he said to them, [3] “Pick me up [3 3] and throw me into the sea, [2] and the sea will be calm [2] for you; [1] for [3] I know [2] that because of me [2] the great storm, [3] this [2] is upon you.” [1]
	¹³וַיַּחְתְּר֣וּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים [3] Revi'i לְהָשִׁ֛יב [3] Tevir אֶל־הַיַּבָּשָׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha וְלֹ֣א יָכֹ֑לוּ [1] Etnachta כִּ֣י הַיָּ֔ם [2] Zaqef הוֹלֵ֥ךְ וְסֹעֵ֖ר [2] Tip'cha עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq		¹³Nevertheless the men rowed hard [3] to get them back [3] to the land, [2] but they could not; [1] for the sea [2] grew more and more stormy [2] against them. [1]
	¹⁴וַיִּקְרְא֨וּ אֶל־יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] Geresh וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ [3] Revi'i אָנָּ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta אַל־נָ֣א נֹאבְדָ֗ה [3] Revi'i בְּנֶ֙פֶשׁ֙ [3 3] Pashta הָאִ֣ישׁ הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef וְאַל־תִּתֵּ֥ן עָלֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha דָּ֣ם נָקִ֑יא [1] Etnachta כִּֽי־אַתָּ֣ה יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר חָפַ֖צְתָּ [2] Tip'cha עָשִֽׂיתָ׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁴Therefore they cried out to the LORD [4] and they said, [3] “We beg you LORD, [3] please don’t let us perish [3] for the life [3 3] of this man, [2] and don’t lay on us [2] innocent blood; [1] for you LORD, [2] just as you pleased [2] you have done.” [1]
	¹⁵וַיִּשְׂאוּ֙ [3] Pashta אֶת־יוֹנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וַיְטִלֻ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha אֶל־הַיָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta וַיַּעֲמֹ֥ד הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha מִזַּעְפּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁵So they picked up [3] Jonah, [2] and they threw him [2] into the sea; [1] and the sea stopped [2] its raging. [1]
	¹⁶וַיִּֽירְא֧וּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֛ים [3] Tevir יִרְאָ֥ה גְדוֹלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha אֶת־יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta וַיִּֽזְבְּחוּ־זֶ֙בַח֙ [3 3] Pashta לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וַֽיִּדְּר֖וּ [2] Tip'cha נְדָרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁶Then the men feared [3] exceedingly [2] the LORD; [1] and they offered a sacrifice [3 3] to the LORD, [2] and they vowed [2] vows. [1]
