1 בְּ֭נִי [3] Dechi שְׁמֹ֣ר אֲמָרָ֑י [2] Etnachta תִּצְפֹּ֥ן אִתָּֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
1 O my son, [3] keep my words; [2] treasure up within you. [1] |

2 שְׁמֹ֣ר מִצְוֺתַ֣י [3] VDechi וֶחְיֵ֑ה [2] Etnachta כְּאִישׁ֥וֹן עֵינֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
2 Keep my commandments [3] and live; [2] as the apple of your eye. [1] |

3 קׇשְׁרֵ֥ם עַל־אֶצְבְּעֹתֶ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta עַל־ל֥וּחַ לִבֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
3 Bind them on your fingers; [2] on the tablet of your heart. [1] |

4 אֱמֹ֣ר לַ֭חׇכְמָה [3] Dechi אֲחֹ֣תִי אָ֑תְּ [2] Etnachta לַבִּינָ֥ה תִקְרָֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
4 Say to wisdom, [3] “You are my sister,” [2] call understanding, [1] |

5 לִ֭שְׁמׇרְךָ [3] Dechi מֵאִשָּׁ֣ה זָרָ֑ה [2] Etnachta אֲמָרֶ֥יהָ הֶחֱלִֽיקָה׃ [1] Silluq |
5 to keep you [3] from the adulterous woman, [2] who flatters with her words. [1] |

6 כִּ֭י [3] Dechi בְּחַלּ֣וֹן בֵּיתִ֑י [2] Etnachta נִשְׁקָֽפְתִּי׃ [1] Silluq |
6 For [3] at the window of my house; [2] I looked down. [1] |

7 וָאֵ֤רֶא בַפְּתָאיִ֗ם [3] Revi'i אָ֘בִ֤ינָה בַבָּנִ֗ים [3/2] Revi'i נַ֣עַר חֲסַר־לֵֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
7 And I saw among the simple ones, [3] I observed among the youths, [3/2] a young man lacking understanding, [1] |

8 עֹבֵ֣ר בַּ֭שּׁוּק [3] Dechi אֵ֣צֶל פִּנָּ֑הּ [2] Etnachta יִצְעָֽד׃ [1] Silluq |
8 crossing the street [3] near her corner; [2] he walked, [1] |

9 בְּנֶֽשֶׁף־בְּעֶ֥רֶב י֑וֹם [2] Etnachta וַאֲפֵלָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
9 at twilight, in the evening of the day; [2] and darkness. [1] |

10 וְהִנֵּ֣ה אִ֭שָּׁה [3] Dechi לִקְרָאת֑וֹ [2] Etnachta וּנְצֻ֥רַת לֵֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
10 And behold a woman [3] meets him; [2] and with a cunning heart. [1] |

11 הֹמִיָּ֣ה הִ֣יא [3] VDechi וְסֹרָ֑רֶת [2] Etnachta לֹא־יִשְׁכְּנ֥וּ רַגְלֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq |
11 She is loud [3] and defiant; [2] her feet never stay, [1] |

12 פַּ֤עַם ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh בַּח֗וּץ [3] Revi'i פַּ֥עַם בָּרְחֹב֑וֹת [2] Etnachta תֶאֱרֹֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
12 now [4] in the street, [3] now in the square; [2] she lurks. [1] |

13 וְהֶחֱזִ֣יקָה בּ֭וֹ [3] Dechi וְנָ֣שְׁקָה לּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta וַתֹּ֣אמַר לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
13 And she grabs him [3] and she kisses him; [2] and she says to him, [1] |

14 זִבְחֵ֣י שְׁלָמִ֣ים [3] VDechi עָלָ֑י [2] Etnachta שִׁלַּ֥מְתִּי נְדָרָֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
14 “Sacrifices of peace offerings [3] are on me; [2] I have paid my vows. [1] |

15 עַל־כֵּ֭ן [3] Dechi יָצָ֣אתִי לִקְרָאתֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta וָאֶמְצָאֶֽךָּ׃ [1] Silluq |
15 Therefore [3] I have come out to meet you; [2] and I have found you. [1] |

16 מַ֭רְבַדִּים [3] Dechi רָבַ֣דְתִּי עַרְשִׂ֑י [2] Etnachta אֵט֥וּן מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq |
16 With coverings [3] I have spread my couch; [2] of Egyptian linen. [1] |

17 נַ֥פְתִּי מִשְׁכָּבִ֑י [2] Etnachta וְקִנָּמֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq |
17 I have perfumed my bed; [2] and cinnamon. [1] |

18 לְכָ֤ה נִרְוֶ֣ה דֹ֭דִים [3] Dechi עַד־הַבֹּ֑קֶר [2] Etnachta בׇּאֳהָבִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
18 Come let us take our fill of love [3] until the morning; [2] with love. [1] |

19 כִּ֤י אֵ֣ין הָאִ֣ישׁ [3] VDechi בְּבֵית֑וֹ [2] Etnachta בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ מֵרָחֽוֹק׃ [1] Silluq |
19 For the husband is not [3] in his house; [2] on a long journey. [1] |

20 צְֽרוֹר־הַ֭כֶּסֶף [3] Dechi לָקַ֣ח בְּיָד֑וֹ [2] Etnachta יָבֹ֥א בֵיתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
20 A bag of money [3] he has taken in his hand; [2] he will come home.” [1] |

21 הִ֭טַּתּוּ [3] Dechi בְּרֹ֣ב לִקְחָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta תַּדִּיחֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
21 She leads him astray [3] with great persuasiveness; [2] she compels him. [1] |

22 ה֤וֹלֵ֥ךְ אַחֲרֶ֗יהָ [3] Revi'i פִּ֫תְאֹ֥ם [2] Ole Veyored אֶל־טֶ֣בַח יָבֹ֑א [2] Etnachta אֶל־מוּסַ֥ר אֱוִֽיל׃ [1] Silluq |
22 He follows behind her [3] suddenly; [2] which goes to the slaughter, [2] for the chastening of a fool. [1] |

23 עַ֤ד יְפַלַּ֪ח חֵ֡ץ [4] Pazer כְּֽבֵד֗וֹ [3] Revi'i אֶל־פָּ֑ח [2] Etnachta כִּֽי־בְנַפְשׁ֥וֹ הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq |
23 Until an arrow pierces [4] his liver, [3] to a snare; [2] that it will cost his life. [1] ¶ |

24 וְעַתָּ֣ה בָ֭נִים [3] Dechi שִׁמְעוּ־לִ֑י [2] Etnachta לְאִמְרֵי־פִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
24 Now therefore, O sons, [3] listen to me; [2] to the words of my mouth. [1] |

25 אַל־יֵ֣שְׂטְ אֶל־דְּרָכֶ֣יהָ [3] VDechi לִבֶּ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta בִּנְתִיבוֹתֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq |
25 Don’t let it turn to her ways, [3] your heart; [2] in her paths, [1] |

26 כִּֽי־רַבִּ֣ים חֲלָלִ֣ים [3] VDechi הִפִּ֑ילָה [2] Etnachta כׇּל־הֲרֻגֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq |
26 for many are the victims [3] she has brought down; [2] are all her slain. [1] |

27 דַּרְכֵ֣י שְׁא֣וֹל [3] VDechi בֵּיתָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta אֶל־חַדְרֵי־מָֽוֶת׃ [1] Silluq פ |
27 The way to Sheol [3] is her house; [2] to the chambers of death. [1] ¶ |
