        Glosses: from the sky

Comments: οὐρανόθεν in {S:04401401700014} and {S:04402601300016} is somewhat ambiguous, for both events may be regarded as involving a semantic derivative of {L:οὐρανός}[b] heaven ({D:1.11}) rather than {L:οὐρανός}[a] sky ({D:1.5}). In {S:04401401700014} one might very well translate ‘he gives rain from heaven,’ since obviously the agent is God. Similarly, in {S:04402601300016} the light might come from heaven, since the light is presumably regarded as a supernatural phenomenon.
