Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #84972

← לָהֶם ⌂ → Deu 5 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 31 And_you(ms) here stand with_me so_that_I_may_speak to_you DOM all_of the_command and_the_regulations and_the_judgements which you_will_teach_them and_they_will_observe_them in/on_the_earth which I am_about_to_give to/for_them to_take_possession_of_it. (DEU 5:31)

OET-RV: 31 but then come back up here and I’ll give you all the instructions and rules and regulations for you to teach them, so they can follow them in the land that I’m giving them to take possession of.’ (DEU 5:31)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘לָהֶם’ (Morphology=R PoS=preposition
 Morphology=Sp3mp PoS=pronominal_suffix Person=third Gender=masculine Number=plural)
is always and only glossed as ‘to / for_them’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘לְ’, ‘הוּא’’ have only one gloss: ‘to/for=them’.
