Notes: In designating ‘dill’ as well as ἡδύοσμον ‘mint,’ πήγανον ‘rue,’ and κύμινον ‘cumin,’ it is probably wise to borrow a term and use a classifier, for example, ‘a seasoning herb called dill.’

OET-RV MAT 23:23

23 “You religious teachers and Farisaios are hypocrites and will have a bad end, because you give a tenth of your herbs, but you ignore the weightier parts of God’s commands, like justice, mercy, and faith. It’s good to tithe, but those other things should also be observed, and not left out.

OET-LV MAT 23:23

23 Woe to_you_all, scribes and Farisaios_party, hypocrites.
Because you_all_are_tithing the mint and the dill and the cummin, and you_all_left the heavier of_the law:
the justice and the mercy and the faith.
But it_was_fitting to_do these things, and_those not to_leave.
