χλωρός (ⱪlōrόs) — green / light green / pale

Notes: It is difficult to determine whether χλωρός should be regarded as having two different meanings or whether the meaning should be regarded as covering a range of color from light green through greenish yellow and greenish gray, but for the practical purposes of highlighting certain differences in color, two meanings of χλωρός are listed here (79.34: χλωρός and 79.35: χλωρός).; The Greek term χλωρόν (as a substantive) also occurs in non-New Testament contexts with a generic meaning of any kind of plant, thus being roughly equivalent to the meaning of φυτεία (3.1: φυτεία), but in OET REV 9:4 χλωρόν contrasts with χόρτον ‘grass’ and δένδρον ‘tree’ and thus evidently refers to larger annuals and smaller perennial plants.
