Facing up to your obligations

This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.

Readers’ Version

Literal Version

12:57 Facing up to your obligations

(Mat. 5:25-26)

57Even for yourselves, can’t you judge what is right and wrong? 58Because as you’re on the way with your opponent to an arbitrator, think hard about how to resolve the case, because if you don’t he might drag you off to the judge, and the judge will hand you over to the constable, and the constable will toss you into a prison cell. 59I’m telling you that you won’t get out of there until every last coin has been repaid.

57And why even for yourselves, you_all_are_ not _judging what is right?
58For/Because as you_are_going with the opponent of_you before a_ruler in the way, give effort to_have_released from him, lest he_may_be_dragging_ you _away to the judge, and the judge will_be_giving_ you _over to_the constable, and the constable will_be_throwing you into prison.
59I_am_saying to_you, by_no_means you_may_ not _come_out from_there until you_may_give_back even the last lepton_coin.
