8:1 The team spreading the good message

8After that, Yeshua started travelling around all the towns and villages, preaching and sharing the good message about God’s kingdom. His twelve trainees were with him 2[ref]along with some women who had been healed from evil spirits and sicknesses: Maria from Magdala (that seven demons had came out of), 3Yoanna who’s Chusa’s wife and one of King Herod’s managers, Susanna, and many others, who used the group’s assets to look after their needs.

8And it_became at the time consecutively, and he was_travelling_through throughout the_city and village, proclaiming and good_message_preaching the kingdom of_ the _god, and the twelve were with him, 2and some women who were having_been_healed from evil spirits and sicknesses:
Maria/(Mirəyām) who being_called from_Magdala, from whom seven demons had_come_out, 3and Yōanna wife of_Chusa a_manager of_Haʸrōdaʸs, and Susanna, and many others, who were_serving unto_them from the things possessing to_them.

8:4 The parable about spreading seeds

(Mark 4:1-9, Mat. 13:1-9)

4A large crowd gathered around Yeshua, including many who had travelled out from the city, and he told them this parable:

5One day a farmer went out to plant some seeds. As he scattered the seeds, some of them fell along the path where they got trampled on and the birds ate them. 6Some of the seeds landed in a rocky area where they then sprouted, but then they withered up because they didn’t have enough moisture. 7Some of the seeds landed in a patch of thistles, and as the plants started to grow, they were choked our by the thistles. 8Some of the seeds fell onto good soil, and then the plants grew up to produce a harvest of one hundred times as much.

As he was saying this, he was also telling them, “Anyone who wants to hear, listen carefully.

4And a_ great _crowd Coming_together and of_the ones in the_city journeying to him, he_spoke by parable:
5The one sowing came_out which to_sow the seed of_him.
And at the time him to_be_sowing, some indeed fell along the road, and it_was_trampled and the birds of_the sky devoured it.
6And other fell_down on the rock, and having_been_sprouted was_withered because_of the thing to_ not _be_having moisture.
7And other fell in the_midst of_the thorns, and having_been_grown_up the thorns choked_ it _out.
8And other fell on the the good soil, also having_been_sprouted produced fruit a_hundred_fold.
These things saying, he_was_calling:
The one having ears to_be_hearing, him _let_be_hearing.

8:9 The reason for parables

(Mark 4:10-12, Mat. 13:10-17)

9After this, his apprentices asked him, “What’s that parable all about?” 10[ref]You’re permitted to know the mysteries of God’s kingdom,” responded Yeshua, “but the others get parables so that when they look, they won’t see, and when they listen, they won’t understand.

9And the apprentices/followers of_him were_asking him:
What this?
might_be the parable?
10And he said:
It_has_been_given to_you_all to_know the mysteries of_the kingdom of_ the _god, but to_the rest in parables, in_order_that seeing they _may_ not _be_seeing, and hearing they _may_ not _be_understanding.

8:11 The meaning of the parable about the seeds

(Mark 4:13-20, Mat. 13:18-23)

11So this is what the parable means: the seeds are God’s message. 12The seeds along the road are those who hear the message, but afterwards the devil comes along and snatches the message away from their hearts, so that they don’t believe and get saved. 13The seeds among the rocks are those who happily accept the message but don’t put down any roots, so they believe for a short time, and then when temptations come they pull back from God. 14The seeds among the thistles are those who heard the message but get choked under worries and wealth and the good life, and so they never reach maturity. 15But the seeds in the good soil are those good people with good hearts and after hearing the message, they follow it, and produce fruit from their endurance.

11And this is the parable:
the seed is the message of_ the _god.
12And the ones along the road are the ones having_heard, thereafter the devil is_coming and is_taking_away the message from the heart of_them, in_order_that not having_believed they_may_be_saved.
13And the ones on the rock, who whenever they_may_hear with joy are_receiving the message, and these are_ not _having a_root, who for a_time are_believing, and in the_time of_temptation they_are_withdrawing_from.
14And the seed having_fallen into the thorns, these are the ones having_heard, and going are_being_choked under worries, and riches, and gratifications of_ the _living, and are_ not _brought_to_maturity.
15But the seed in the good soil, these are the_ones who in a_heart good and good, having_heard the message are_keeping it, and are_bearing_fruit by endurance.

8:16 The light will expose what’s hidden

(Mark 4:21-25)

16[ref]No one lights a lamp and then puts a cover over it or puts it under a bed, but rather it’s placed on a lampstand so that everyone coming into the room can see the light.

17[ref]Similarly, nothing is hidden that won’t eventually become visible, and nothing is secret that won’t become known and exposed.

18[ref]So take care in what you listen to, because anyone who has now will be given more, and anyone who doesn’t have, whatever they think they do have will be taken away from them.

16And no_one having_lit a_lamp, is_covering it with_a_object or is_putting it beneath a_bed, but is_putting it on a_lampstand, in_order_that the ones entering_in may_be_seeing the light.
17For/Because not is hidden which will_ not _be_becoming manifest, nor secret which not may_ not _be_known and may_come to manifest.
18Therefore be_watching_out how you_all_are_hearing, because/for whoever wishfully may_be_having, will_be_being_given to_him, and whoever wishfully may_ not _be_having, even what he_is_supposing to_be_having will_be_being_taken_away from him.

8:19 Yeshua’s mother and siblings

(Mark 3:31-35, Mat. 12:46-50)

19Then Yeshua’s mother and brothers arrived but they couldn’t get close to him because of the crowd. 20Your mother and brothers are standing outside,” someone told him, “and they want to see you.”

21My mother and my brothers,” Yeshua responded, “are anyone who’s listening to God’s message and who put it into practice.

19And the mother and the brothers of_him arrived to him, and they_were_ not _able to_reach to_him because_of the crowd.
20And it_was_reported to_him:
The mother of_you and the brothers of_you, have_stood outside wanting to_see you.
21But he answering said to them:
The_mother of_me and the_brothers of_me, these are the ones hearing and doing the message of_ the _god.

8:22 Yeshua’s power over the wind and waves

(Mark 4:35-41, Mat. 8:23-27)

22One day Yeshua and his apprentices got into a boat and he asked them to go across to the other side of Lake Galilee. So they set off 23but once they were moving, Yeshua fell asleep. The a big storm descended onto the lake and the boat was being swamped by the waves and they were in danger of sinking. 24The apprentices went and woke Yeshua, “Master, we’re going to drown!”

Now awake, he spoke sternly to the wind and the waves in the lake, and they stopped and it became calm. 25Where’s your faith?” he asked them.

From being terrified, they were now astounded and asked each other, “Who is this guy really? He can just tell the wind and the water what to do, and they obey him!”

22And it_became on one of_the days, and he and the apprentices/followers of_him boarded into a_boat, and he_said to them:
We_may_pass_through to the side across of_the lake.
And they_were_launched.
23But sailing of_them, he_fell_asleep.
And a_ of_wind _storm came_down on the lake, and they_were_being_swamped and they_were_risking_danger.
24And having_approached, they_awoke him saying:
Master, master, we_are_perishing.
And he having_been_awoke, gave_rebuke to_the wind, and to_the wave, of_the water, and they_ceased and it_became a_calm.
25And he_said to_them:
Where is the faith of_you_all?
And having_been_afraid, they_marvelled saying to one_another:
Who consequently is this, that he_is_commanding both to_the winds and to_the water, and they_are_submitting to_him?

8:26 Yeshua drives many demons into the pigs

(Mark 5:1-20, Mat. 8:28-34)

26Then they sailed across to the region of the Gerasenes, which is across the lake from Galilee. 27As they got out of the boat, a demon-possessed man who had come out of the city had met him there. He didn’t live in a house, but lived in a cemetery, and he wasn’t wearing a lot. 28He yelled out when he saw Yeshua and knelt down before him, and spoke loudly, “What business do you and I have together, Yeshua, son of the highest God? I beg you, don’t torture me.” 29He said this because Yeshua had commanded the evil spirit to come out from the man. The demon had animated him many times and he’d needed to be put in chains and shackles, but he would break them off and the demon would drive him into the wilderness.

30What is your name?Yeshua asked.

“Thousands,” he answered because many thousands of demons had entered him 31and now they were pleading with him not to command them to go back to the bottomless pit.

32They could see a herd of pigs being fed on a hill, and they requested Yeshua to let them go into the pigs, and he agreed to that. 33So the demons rushed out of the man and into the pigs, and all the pigs then rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned.

34When the workers feeding the pigs saw this happen, they took off and told everyone in the nearby town and round about. 35So lots of people went there to the edge of the lake to see for themselves, and they found the man who had been demon-possessed now dressed and sitting at Yeshua’s feet with his full faculties, and they were frightened. 36The people who had seen it happen told the new-comers how the demon-possessed man had been healed. 37Then all those people from the Gerasenes region asked Yeshua to leave the area, because they were quite terrified, so he got back into the boat and they headed back to the other side.

38The man who the demons had come out of had asked Yeshua if he could go with him, but Yeshua sent him away, saying, 39Go back to your house and tell them there about what God has done for you.

So he went around the town telling everyone what Yeshua had done for him.

26And they_sailed_down to the region of_the Gerasaʸnōn, which is opposite the Galilaia/(Gālīl).
27And having_come_out to_him on the land, a_ certain _man met  him out_of the city having demons, and for_ much _time not dressed_in garment, and was_ not _remaining in a_house, but in the tombs.
28And having_seen the Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa), having_cried_out he_fell_before to_him, and with_a_ loud _voice said:
What to_me and to_you, Yaʸsous, the_son of_ The the highest _god?
I_am_beseeching of_you, you_may_ not _torment me.
29for/because He_commanded to_the the spirit unclean to_come_out from the man.
For/Because for/because_many times it_had_seized him, and he_was_being_bound with_chains and being_guarded in_shackles, and tearing the bonds, he_was_being_driven by the demon into the wildernesss.
30And the Yaʸsous asked him:
What to_you is the_name?
And he said:
Many_thousands, because many demons came_in into him.
31And they_were_imploring him that he_may_ not _command to_them to_go_away into the abyss.
32And there was a_herd of_ many _pigs being_fed on the mountain, and they_implored him that he_may_permit to_them to_come_in into those.
And he_permitted to_them.
33And the demons having_come_out from the man, they_came_in into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep_bank into the lake, and was_drowned.
34And the ones feeding them having_seen, the thing having_become, they_fled and they_reported to the city and to the country.
35And they_came_out to_see the thing having_become, and came to the Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa), and found the man sitting, from whom the demons came_out, having_been_clothed and being_sensible before the feet of_ the _Yaʸsous, and they_were_afraid.
36And the ones having_seen it reported to_them, how the one having_been_demon_possessed was_healed.
37And all the multitude of_the surrounding_region of_the Gerasaʸnōn asked, him, to_go_away from them, because they_were_being_gripped_with with_ great _fear.
And he having_boarded, into the_boat, returned.
38But the man from whom had_come_out the demons, was_beseeching of_him, to_be with him.
But he_sent_ him _away saying, 39Be_returning to the house of_you, and be_describing as_much_as the god did for_you.
And he_went_away throughout all the city, proclaiming as_much_as the Yaʸsous did for_him.

8:40 The leader’s dying daughter plus the woman haemorrhaging

(Mark 5:21-43, Mat. 9:18-26)

40When Yeshua got back to the other side of the lake, the crowd there had been waiting for him and welcomed him. 41Then, wow, a man named Yairus came and knelt down in front of Yeshua. He was the leader at the local meeting hall and he pleaded for Yeshua to come to his house 42because his only daughter, a twelve-year old, was dying.

Then while Yeshua was on his way squeezing through the crowd, 43a woman who’d had internal bleeding for twelve years and who couldn’t be helped by any doctor, 44worked her way up behind Yeshua and touched the edge of his robe. Immediately her bleeding stopped 45and Yeshua stopped and said, “Who touched me?

No one owned up, and Peter said, “Master, there’s people all around you and they’re pressing against you.”

46Someone touched me,Yeshua responded, “because I felt power going out from me.47Then the woman now saw that she wouldn’t get away with it, came to Yeshua shaking, and knelt down at his feet. She told him in front of all the people why she had touched his clothes and how she’d been immediately healed. 48Daughter,” Yeshua said, “your faith has healed you. Go in peace.

49While he was still speaking, someone came from the meeting hall leader’s home and told him, “Don’t bother the teacher any further. Your daughter just passed away.”

50But Yeshua heard this and turned to Yairus and said, “Don’t be afraid. Just believe and she will be healed.

51So they continued to the house, but Yeshua didn’t allow anyone inside other than Peter and Yohan and Yacob, along with the girl’s parents. 52Everyone was weeping and mourning for her. But he said, “Don’t cry. She isn’t dead—just asleep.

53But they were ridiculing Yeshua, because they knew that she had died. 54He took hold of her hand, and called, “Girl, get up.55Then her spirit returned and she got up immediately, and he asked them to get her something to eat. 56Her parents were astonished, but he instructed them not to tell anyone what had happened.

40And at the time the Yaʸsous to_be_returning, the crowd welcomed him, because/for were all waiting for_him.
41And see, a_man came to_whose name was Yaeiros, and this one was_being a_ruler of_the synagogue, and having_fallen before the feet of_Yaʸsous, he_was_imploring him to_come_in to the house of_him, 42because a_ only_begotten _daughter was to_him, about twelve of_years, and she was_dying_off.
But at the time to_be_going him, the crowds were_pressing_against him.
43And a_woman being with a_hemorrhage of_blood for twelve years, who was_ not _able to_be_healed by no_one, 44having_approached behind, she_touched against_the fringe of_the garment of_him, and immediately the hemorrhage of_the blood of_her stopped.
45And the Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) said:
Who is the one having_touched against_me?
And disowning it all, the Petros said:
Master, the crowds are_pressing you and they_are_pressing_in.
46But the Yaʸsous said:
Someone touched against_me, because/for I knew power having_come_out from me.
47And the woman having_seen that she_ not _escaped_notice, came trembling and having_fallen_before to_him, she_reported before all for what cause she_touched against_him, the people, and how she_was_healed immediately.
48And he said to_her:
Daughter, the faith of_you has_healed you, be_going in peace.
49Still of_him speaking, someone is_coming from the synagogue_leader saying, that the daughter of_you /Has/_died, be_troubling the teacher no_longer.
50But the Yaʸsous having_heard, answered to_him:
Be_ not _fearing, only be_believing, and she_will_be_being_healed.
51And having_come into the house, he_ not _allowed anyone to_come_in, with him, except not/lest Petros, and Yōannaʸs, and Yakōbos/(Yaˊaqov), and the father of_the girl, and the mother.
52And all were_weeping and they_were_mourning for_her.
But he said:
Be_ not _weeping, because/for she_ not _died_off, but she_is_sleeping.
53And they_were_ridiculing of_him, having_known that she_died_off.
54And he having_taken_hold of_the hand of_her, called saying:
- girl, be_raising.
55And the spirit of_her returned, and she_rose_up immediately, and he_directed to_her to_be_given something to_eat.
56And the parents of_her marvelled, but he he_commanded to_them to_tell no_one what having_become.
