Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #29841

← הָאָרֶץ ⌂ → Exo 10 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 5 And_it_will_cover DOM the_eye_of the_earth/land and_not anyone_will_be_able for_seeing DOM the_earth/land and_he/it_will_eat DOM the_remainder_of the_escaped_thing (the)_that_which_remains to/for_you(pl) from the_hail and_he/it_will_eat DOM every_of the_tree which_is_sprouting to/for_you(pl) from the_field. (EXO 10:5)

OET-RV: 5 They’ll cover the ground so that no one will even be able to see it, and they’ll devour whatever remains after the hail. Plus they’ll devour every tree growing in the countryside. (EXO 10:5)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘הָאָרֶץ’ (Morphology=Td PoS=definite_article
 Morphology=Ncbsa PoS=common_noun Gender=both Number=singular State=absolute)
is always and only glossed as ‘the_earth / land’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘הַ’, ‘אֶרֶץ’’ have only one gloss: ‘the=earth/land’.
