Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #284688

← שִׁמְךָ ⌂ → Isa 4 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 4 And_ seven women _they_will_take_hold on_a_man one in_the_day (the)_that to_say food_of_our_own we_will_eat and_our_own_of_clothing we_will_wear only name_of_your let_it_be_called on_us remove reproach_of_our. (ISA 4:1)

OET-RV: 4 When that happens, seven women will take hold of one man, saying,
⇔ ‘We’ll eat our food and wear our clothes.
⇔ Just let us marry you so we can take your name
⇔ to remove our shame.’ (ISA 4:1)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
