ISA 35:1–35:10 ©

The Book of Isaiah 35

35The wilderness and the desert will be glad;

and the Arabah will rejoice and blossom.

Like the rose, 2it will blossom abundantly

and rejoice, even with joy and singing.

The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,

the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;

they will see the glory of Yahweh,

the splendor of our God.

3Strengthen the weak hands,

and the shaky knees, steady.

4Say to those fearful of heart,

“Be strong, do not fear!

Behold, your God will come with vengeance,

with the recompense of God.

He himself will come and save you.”

5Then the eyes of the blind will be opened,

and the ears of the deaf will be opened.

6Then the lame one will leap like a deer,

and the mute tongue will sing,

for water breaks out in the wilderness,

and streams in the Arabah.

7And the parched ground will become a pool,

and the thirsty place springs of water;

in the habitation of jackals, its resting place,

grass with reeds and rushes.

8And there a highway and way will be,

and it will be called ‘the way of holiness.’

The unclean will not travel it.

But it will be for him, the wayfarer of the road,

and no fool will wander it.

9No lion will be there,

and no ferocious beast will go up on it;

they will not be found there.

But the redeemed will walk it,

10and the ransomed of Yahweh will return

and come with singing to Zion,

with everlasting joy on their heads;

gladness and joy will overtake them,

and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
