Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 17 For_so/thus/hence thus YHWH he_says wife_of_your in_city she_will_be_a_prostitute and_sons_of_your and_daughters_of_your by_sword they_will_fall and_land_of_your with_measuring-line it_will_be_divided and_you(ms) on ground unclean you_will_die and_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) certainly_(go_into_exile) it_will_go_into_exile from_under land_of_its. OET-RV: 17 Therefore this is what Yahweh says:
⇔ Your wife will become a prostitute in the city.
⇔ Your sons and daughters will die by the sword.
⇔ Your property will be measured and divided up.
⇔ You’ll die in a foreign, heathen country,
⇔ and Yisrael will certainly be taken into exile from its land.” (AMO 7:17)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
