Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 12 Whether three years famine and_if three months being_swept_away from_face/in_front_of foes_of_your and_the_sword_of your(pl)_enemies_of_your to_overtaking_you and_if three_of days the_sword_of YHWH and_pestilence on_the_earth and_the_messenger_of YHWH destroying in_all the_territory_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_now consider what will_I_bring_back DOM the_one_of_who_sent_me message. (CH1 21:12)

OET-RV: 12 either three years of famine, or three months of being overcome by your enemies’ armies, or three days of Yahweh’s ‘sword’ of pestilence in the country and Yahweh’s messenger bringing destruction across all of Yisrael’s territory. So now, tell me what answer I should take back to the one who sent me.” (CH1 21:12)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘וְאִם’ (Morphology=C PoS=conjunction
 Morphology=C PoS=conjunction)
is always and only glossed as ‘and_if’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘וְ’, ‘אִם’’ have only one gloss: ‘and=if’.
