Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #42405

← אֱלֹהֵיהֶם ⌂ → Exo 34 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 15 Lest you_should_make a_covenant to_the_inhabitant[s]_of the_earth/land and_they_will_prostitute_themselves after gods_of_their and_they_will_sacrifice to_gods_of_their and_someone_will_invite to/for_yourself(m) and_you(ms)_will_eat some_of_his_sacrifice. (EXO 34:15)

OET-RV: 15 So don’t make an agreement with the inhabitants of the land, because when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, and then they invite you to join them and you eat some of their sacrifice, (EXO 34:15)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
