Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #353848

← לִהְיוֹת ⌂ → Eze 44 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 7 When_brought_you(pl) sons_of foreignness uncircumcised_of heart and_uncircumcised_of flesh to_be in_sanctuary_of_my to_profane_it DOM house_of_my when_you_brought_near DOM food_of_my fat and_blood and_they_broke DOM covenant_of_my because_of all_of abominations_of_your(pl). (EZE 44:7)

OET-RV: 7 that you brought foreigners with uncircumcised hearts and uncircumcised flesh to be in my sanctuary, profaning my temple, while you people were offering me food, fat, and blood. You people have broken my agreement with all your disgusting actions. (EZE 44:7)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘לִהְיוֹת’ (Morphology=R PoS=preposition
 Morphology=Vqc PoS=qal_verb Type=infinitive_construct)
is always and only glossed as ‘to_be’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘לְ’, ‘הָיָה’’ have only one gloss: ‘to=be’.
