Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #22138

← הִנֶּנּוּ ⌂ → Gen 44 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 16 And_ Yəhūdāh _he/it_said what will_we_say to_master_of_my what will_we_speak and_what will_we_justify_ourselves the_ʼElohīm he_has_found DOM the_guilt_of your_servants HERE_we are_slaves of_master_of_my both we as_well_as the_one_who the_cup it_was_found in_his/its_hand. (GEN 44:16)

OET-RV: 16 “What can we say to my master?” Yehudah answered. “What words could we speak? How could we possibly justify ourselves? God has exposed the sin of your servants. So now, we are slaves for my master—both we and the one who was found with the cup.” (GEN 44:16)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
