Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #318506

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 21 And_it_was its_noble_of_one from_him/it and_ruler_of_its from_midst_of_its he_will_come_forth and_I_will_bring_him_near and_he_will_draw_near to_me if/because who that this has_he_pledged DOM his/its_heart to_draw_near to_me the_utterance_of YHWH. (JER 30:21)

OET-RV: 21 Its king will be from among it,
 ⇔ ≈ and its ruler will come from its middle.
 ⇔ Then I’ll bring it near, and it will approach me,
 ⇔ because who is this that has pledged its heart to approach me?
 § That is Yahweh’s declaration. (JER 30:21)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘לָגֶשֶׁת’ (Morphology=R PoS=preposition
 Morphology=Vqc PoS=qal_verb Type=infinitive_construct)
is always and only glossed as ‘to, draw_near’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘לְ’, ‘נָגַשׁ’’ have only one gloss: ‘to,draw_near’.
