Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #185519

← וַיֹּאמֶר ⌂ → 2 Ki 23 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 17 And_he/it_said what is_the_gravestone this which I am_seeing and_they_said to_him/it the_people_of the_city the_grave the_man_of the_ʼElohīm who he_came from_Yəhūdāh/(Judah) and_he/it_called DOM the_things the_these which you_have_done on the_altar_of Bēyt- ʼēl. (KI2 23:17)

OET-RV: 17 Yoshiyah turned again and asked, “Whose tomb is that?”
¶ “It’s the prophet’s tomb,” the people of Beyt-El replied, “The one who came from Yehudah and predicted that what you just did to that altar would happen.” (KI2 23:17)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
