Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #129913

← וַיָּרִעוּ ⌂ → 1 Sam 10 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 24 And_ Shəmūʼēl/(Samuel) _he/it_said to all_of the_people do_you(pl)_see the_one_whom he_has_chosen in/on/over_him/it YHWH if/because there_is_not like_him in_all the_people and_ all_of the_people _they_shouted and_they_said the_king may_he_live. (SA1 10:24)

OET-RV: 24 Then Shemuel announced to everyone, “Can you see the one that Yahweh has chosen? Certainly there’s no one else like him among all the people.”
¶ All the people saw that and responded, “Long live the king.” (SA1 10:24)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
