Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #136402

← וַיִּבְכּוּ ⌂ → 1 Sam 20 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 41 The_lad he_went and_Dāvid he_arose from_beside the_south and_he_fell to_face_of_his towards_land and_he_bowed_down three times and_they_kissed each DOM his/its_neighbour and_they_wept_for each DOM his/its_neighbour until Dāvid he_did_great_things. (SA1 20:41)

OET-RV: 41 When the boy was gone, David came up from the side and dropped onto his knees, bowing three times with his face to the ground. Then they greeted each other with a kiss and cried together, although David cried the most. (SA1 20:41)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
