Hebrew wordlink #147343

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 19 And_ Dāvid _he/it_saw if/because_that servants_of_his were_whispering_to_one_another and_ Dāvid _he_understood if/because_that the_child he_had_died and_ Dāvid _he/it_said to servants_of_his has_ the_child _he_died and_they_said he_has_died. (SA2 12:19)

OET-RV: 19 However, when David noticed his servants whispering together, he realised that the baby must have died, and he asked them, “Did the baby die?”
 ¶ “Yes,” they answered, “he passed away.” (SA2 12:19)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘וַיַּרְא’ (Morphology=C PoS=conjunction
 Morphology=Vqw3ms PoS=qal_verb Type=sequential_imperfect_(wayyiqtol) Person=third Gender=masculine Number=singular)
is always and only glossed as ‘and_he / it_saw’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘וְ’, ‘רָאָה’’ have only one gloss: ‘and=he/it_saw’.
