16 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ soughtDOM the _ ʼElohīm for the _ child and _ Dāvid _ he _ fasteda _ fastand _ went and _ lay _ all_ nightand _ lay ground _ on .
17 And _ stood the _ elders_ ofhousehold _ of_ his on/upon/above _ him/it to _ get _ up_ him from the _ earth/land and _ not he _ was_ willingand _ not he _ atewith _ them food .
18 And _ he/it _ wasin _ the_ day the _ seventh and _ he/it _ diedthe _ child and _ the _ servants_ of_ they _ sawof _ Dāvidto _ announce to _ him/it if/because _ thathe _ had_ diedthe _ child if/because they _ saidhere in/on/at/with _ was the _ child alive we _ spoketo _ him/it and _ not he _ listenedin/on/at/with _ voice _ of_ us and _ how will _ we_ sayto _ him/it he _ has_ diedthe _ child and _ do harm .
19 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ sawif/because _ thatservants _ of_ his [were] _ whispering_ to_ one_ anotherand _ Dāvid _ perceived if/because _ thathe _ had_ diedthe _ child and _ Dāvid _ he/it _ saidto servants _ of_ his dead the _ child and _ they _ saidhe _ has_ died20 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ rose_ upfrom _ the _ ground and _ washed and _ anointed and _ changed clothes _ of_ his [fn ] and _ went _ intothe _ house_ ofYHWH and _ worshiped and _ went to house _ of_ his _ ownand _ asked and _ served to _ him/it food and _ he/it _ ate21 servants _ of_ his And _ they _ saidto _ him/it what the _ thing the _ this which you _ have_ donein _ account _ ofthe _ child [was] _ aliveyou _ fastedand _ wept and _ just _ as_ that he _ diedthe _ child you _ aroseand _ she/it _ atefood .

23 And _ now he _ has_ diedto/for _ what this [am] _ Ifasting can to _ bring _ back_ him again I [will _ be]_ goingto _ him/it and _ he not he _ will_ returnto _ me .
24 And _ Dāvid _ comforted DOM Bath- sheba his/its _ wife/woman and _ went to _ her/it and _ lay with _ her/it and _ she/it _ gave_ birtha _ sonand _ called [fn ] DOM his/its _ name Shə lomoh and _ LORD loved _ him .
25 And _ sent in/on/at/with _ hand _ ofNātān the _ prophet and _ he/it _ calledDOM his/its _ name Yə dīdə yāh /(Jedidiah) in _ account _ ofYHWH 26 and _ Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab) _ fought in/on/at/with _ Rabāh of _ the_ people_ ofof _ ˊAmmōnand _ captured DOM the _ city_ ofthe _ royalty .
27 And _ Yōʼāⱱ _ sent messengers to Dāvid and _ he/it _ saidI _ have_ foughtin/on/at/with _ Rabāh also I _ have_ capturedDOM the _ city_ ofthe _ waters .
28 And _ now gather DOM the _ rest_ ofthe _ people and _ encamp on the _ city and _ capture _ it lest I _ should_ takeI DOM the _ city and _ called name _ of_ me over _ it .
29 And _ Dāvid _ gathered DOM all _ ofthe _ people and _ he/it _ wentRabāh _ to and _ fought in/on/at/with _ it and _ captured _ it .
30 And _ he/it _ tookDOM the _ crown_ ofking _ of_ their from _ under his/its _ head and _ weight _ of_ its [was] _ a_ talent_ ofgold and _ stone _ ofprecious and _ it _ becameon the _ head_ ofDāvid and _ plunder _ ofthe _ city he _ brought_ outmuch very .
31 And _ DOM the _ people which in/on/at/with _ it he _ brought_ outand _ he/it _ assignedin/on/at/with _ saws and _ in/on/at/with _ picks _ ofthe _ iron and _ in/on/at/with _ axes _ ofthe _ iron and _ sent DOM _ them in/on/at/with _ brickmaking [fn ] and _ thus/so/as _ followshe _ didto _ all/each/any/every the _ cities_ ofthe _ people_ ofˊAmmōn and _ Dāvid _ returned and _ all the _ people Yə rūshālam/(Jerusalem) .
