Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #149854

← לִי ⌂ → 2 Sam 15 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 34 And_if the_city you_will_return and_you_will_say to_ʼAⱱīshālōm servant_of_your I the_king I_will_be was_the_servant_of your_father_of_your (and)_I from_then and_now (and)_I be_your_servant_of_will and_you_will_frustrate to_me DOM the_counsel_of ʼAḩītofel. (SA2 15:34)

OET-RV: 34 but if you return to the city and tell Abshalom, ‘I’m your servant, my king. I was your father’s servant in the past, but now I’ll be your servant,’ then you’ll be able to oppose Ahitofel’s counsel for me. (SA2 15:34)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
