Introduction

This document lists the prophecies of Zekaryah (Zechariah) concerning Yerushalem (Jerusalem), and tells about the hoped-for Messiah and the final judgement. It consists of two parts: 1. Chapters 1–8, Zekaryah’s prophecy concerning his revelation about saving Yerushalem, the replacement of the temple and its cleaning so that Yahweh’s people become holy, and 2. Chapters 9–14, the prophecies concerning the hoped-for Messiah and the final judgement.

It’s believed that this document was written between 520 and 518 B.C.
