32 They were heading south on their way to Yerusalem with Yeshua in front, and his followers were a bit surprised and a bit scared. Yeshua took the twelve aside and started telling them what was going to happen to him, 33 “We’re on our way down to Yerusalem and humanity’s child will be turned over to the chief priests and the religious teachers, and they’ll sentence him to die and pass him over to the non-Jews. 34 Then they’ll ridicule him and spit on him before they beat him and execute him, but he’ll come back to life again in three days time.”

17 As Yeshua started on the walk to Yerusalem, he took the twelve apprentices aside by themselves on the way, and told them, 18 “Listen, we’re going to Yerusalem and humanity’s child will be handed over to the chief priests and the religious teachers, and they will condemn him to death 19 and hand him over to the non-Jews to be mocked and flogged and executed on a stake, and then on the third day he will come back to life.”

31 Then taking the twelve aside, Yeshua told them, “Listen, we’re go down to Yerusalem and everything that the prophets wrote about humanity’s child is about to happen. 32 He’ll be handed over to non-Jews and will be mocked and insulted and spat on, 33 then they’ll flog him and kill him, but he’ll come back to life on the third day.”

34 But they didn’t understand any of that—the meaning of this statement was hidden from them and they didn’t realise what was being said.
