Definition: an instrument for pressing out the juice of grapes for the making of wine

Notes: Ancient wine presses consisted of large vats into which grapes were placed and then trampled on in order to extract the juice. Accordingly, a descriptive equivalent of wine press may be ‘a place where the juice of grapes was squeezed out’ or ‘… pressed out.’
