Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #120444

← וַתֹּאמֶר ⌂ → Jdg 16 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 14 And_she_thrust with_pin and_she/it_said to_him/it the_Pəlishtiy are_on_you Oh_Shimshvōn and_he_awoke from_sleep_of_his and_he_pulled_out DOM the_pin the_loom and_DOM the_web. (JDG 16:14)

OET-RV: 14 So she did it and fastened it with the pin, and called out, “The Pelishtim are here to get you, Shimshon!” Then he woke up and ripped out the pin, the loom, and his hair from the fabric. (JDG 16:14)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘וַתֹּאמֶר’ (Morphology=C PoS=conjunction
 Morphology=Vqw3fs PoS=qal_verb Type=sequential_imperfect_(wayyiqtol) Person=third Gender=feminine Number=singular)
