Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #110301

← בְּעֹלוֹתֵינוּ ⌂ → Jos 22 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 27 If/because is_a_witness it between_us and_between_you(pl) and_between generations_of_our after_us to_serve DOM the_service_of YHWH before_him with_our_burnt_of_offerings and_with_sacrifices_of_our and_with_our_peace_of_offerings and_not descendants_of_your(pl) they_will_say tomorrow to_descendants_of_our there_belongs_not to/for_you(pl) a_portion in_YHWH. (JOS 22:27)

OET-RV: 27 but as a symbol to remind our future descendants and yours, that we all truly worship Yahweh with our burnt offerings, our sacrifices, and our peace offerings, so your descendants can’t tell our future descendants that we have no business worshipping Yahweh. (JOS 22:27)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
