Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #184242

← לַעֲשׂוֹת ⌂ → 2 Ki 21 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 8 And_not I_will_repeat to_make_wander the_foot_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) from the_soil which I_gave to_ancestors_of_their only if they_will_take_care for_doing according_to_all that I_commanded_them and_to/for_all the_law which servant_of_my Mosheh he_commanded DOM_them. (KI2 21:8)

OET-RV: 8 ⇔If only the Israelis will take care to obey everything that I’ve commanded them, and all the instructions that my servant Mosheh gave them, then I won’t continue to cause them to leave the area that I gave to their ancestors.” (KI2 21:8)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘לַעֲשׂוֹת’ (Morphology=R PoS=preposition
 Morphology=Vqc PoS=qal_verb Type=infinitive_construct)
is always and only glossed as ‘for_doing’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘לְ’, ‘עָשָׂה’’ have only one gloss: ‘for=doing’.
