Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #51252

← עָלָיו ⌂ → Lev 11 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 32 And_all/each/any/every that it_will_fall on/upon/above_him/it from_them in_death_of_their it_will_be_unclean from_all vessel_of wood or a_garment or a_hide or sackcloth every_of vessel which a_work it_will_be_done (is)_in_them in_water it_will_be_put and_it_will_be_unclean until the_evening and_it_will_be_pure. (LEV 11:32)

OET-RV: 32 Also, anything that their dead bodies fall on will become ‘unclean’, whether it’s a wooden. cloth, leader, or sackcloth object, or any container used for work, so then it must be immersed in water and it will be ‘unclean’ until the evening when it will become ‘clean’ again. (LEV 11:32)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘עָלָיו’ (Morphology=R PoS=preposition
 Morphology=Sp3ms PoS=pronominal_suffix Person=third Gender=masculine Number=singular)
is always and only glossed as ‘on / upon / above_him / it’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘עַל’, ‘הוּא’’ have only one gloss: ‘on/upon/above=him/it’.
