Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #226206

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 29 And_you_warned (is)_in_them to_bring_them_back to law_of_your and_they they_acted_presumptuously and_not they_listened to_commands_of_your and_in_judgements_of_your they_sinned in_them which anyone he_will_do and_he_will_live in/among_them and_they_gave a_shoulder stubborn and_neck_of_their they_stiffened and_not they_listened. (NEH 9:29)

OET-RV: 29 You showed them their errors so they’d return to following your instructions, but instead they ignored you and didn’t obey your commands. They ignored your values which would have helped them if they’d lived by them and they turned a stubborn shoulder, stiffened their necks, and refused to listen. (NEH 9:29)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘בָהֶם’ (Morphology=R PoS=preposition
 Morphology=Sp3mp PoS=pronominal_suffix Person=third Gender=masculine Number=plural)
is always and only glossed as ‘in / among_them’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘בְּ’, ‘הוּא’’ have only one gloss: ‘in/among=them’.
