AICNT 1TIM Chapter 4

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and teachings of demons, 2through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, 3who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.

If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of {Christ Jesus},[fn] being nourished in the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed; 7but the profane ones and silly myths,[fn] reject.

For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance.

For this reason we [[both]][fn] labor and {strive},[fn] because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the savior of all men, most of all, of the faithful.

Command these things and teach them.

Let no one despise you for your youth, but become an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, [[in spirit,]][fn] in faith, in purity.

Until I come, pay attention to the reading, the exhortation, the teaching.

Do not neglect the gift within you, which was given to you through prophecy with the laying on of hands by the elders.

Meditate on these things, immerse yourself in them, so that your progress may be evident to all.

Pay attention to yourself and to the teaching; persist in it, for by doing this you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.
