Literal Version

6:20 The blessed and the unblessed

(Mat. 5:1-12)

20Then looking up at his followers, he said,

Blessed are the poor, because God’s kingdom is yours.

21Blessed are those who don’t have enough to eat now, because you’ll all be satisfied.

Blessed are those who are weeping now, because you’ll all be laughing.

22[ref]You’re all blessed when people hate you and snob you, and when they deride you and slander your reputations as evil, all on account of humanity’s child. 23[ref]Be happy at that time and dance with happiness, because you’ll have a large reward in heaven. Their ancestors did the same sorts of things to the prophets.

24However it’s tragic for all you rich people, because you’ve already enjoyed all those comforts.

25It’s tragic for all of you who are full now, because you’ll all be hungry.

It’s tragic for all of you who are laughing now, because you’ll all be mourning and crying.

26It’s tragic for you whenever all the people say they admire you, because their ancestors did the same to the false prophets.

20And he having_lifted_up the eyes of_him on the apprentices/followers of_him was_saying:
Blessed are the poor, because the kingdom of_ the _god is yours.
21Blessed are the ones hungering now, because you_all_will_be_being_satisfied.
Blessed are the ones weeping now, because you_all_will_be_laughing.
22Blessed are_you_all whenever the people may_hate you_all, and whenever they_may_set_ you_all _apart, and they_may_deride you, and may_throw_out the name of_you_all as evil, on_account of_the son of_ the _Man.
23Be_elated in that the day, and jump for_joy, because/for see, the reward of_you_all is great in the heaven.
The in for same way the fathers of_them were_doing to_the prophets.
24However woe to_you_all the rich, because you_all_are_receiving_fully the comfort of_you_all.
25Woe to_you_all, you_all having_been_filled now, because you_all_will_be_hungering.
Woe, to_you_all laughing now, because you_all_will_be_mourning and you_all_will_be_weeping.
26Woe to_you whenever all the people may_speak well you_all, the in for same way were_doing to_the false_prophets the fathers of_them.
