Literal Version

12:35 The well-prepared slave

35[ref]Get up and get dressed and get the lamps burning 36[ref]like someone who’s waiting for their master. When he leaves the wedding celebrations and comes and knocks, you’ll be ready to immediately open the door. 37The master would bless the slaves that are ready, watching for when he arrives. I can assure you that he’ll dress himself and then he’ll seat them on couches and come and serve them there himself. 38If he arrives around midnight or even in the small hours of the morning, he’ll find them ready. Yes, they’ll be blessed. 39[ref]But you should also know this: if the home-owner knew what time the thief would arrive, he’d be ready watching and not allow his house to be burgled. 40So you all need to be ready because you don’t know when humanity’s child is going to arrive.

35Let_be the loins of_you_all having_been_girded_about, and the lamps being_burned, 36and you_all similar to_people waiting_for the master of_themselves, when he_may_depart from the wedding_festivities, in_order_that having_come and having_knocked, they_may_open_up to_him.
immediately.
37Blessed are the those slaves, whom the master having_come, will_be_finding watching.
Truly, I_am_saying to_you_all that he_will_be_girding_about himself and will_be_reclining them, and having_come_up, he_will_be_serving unto_them.
38And_if he_may_come in the second even_if in the third watch, and may_find them thus, blessed are those.
39But be_knowing this, that if the home_owner had_known in_what hour the thief is_coming, he_watched would and he_ would not _allowed the house of_him to_be_dug_through.
40Also you_all be_becoming ready, because you_all_are_ not _supposing in_what hour, the son of_ the _man is_coming.
