Meanwhile, Abner son of Ner, the commander of Saul’s army, took Saul’s son vvv Ish-bosheth,[fn] moved him to Mahanaim, 9 and made him king over Gilead, Asher, Jezreel, Ephraim, and Benjamin— over all Israel.
