  3  And _ men _ of_ his  who  with _ him/it  Dāvid  he _ brought_ up  each _ man  and _ his/its _ house(hold)  and _ they _ lived  in/on/at/with _ towns _ of  Ḩeⱱrōn .
  4  And _  the _ people_ of  _ they _ came  of _ Yə hūdāh  and _ anointed  there  DOM   Dāvid  as _ king  over  the _ house_ of  Yə hūdāh  and _ told  to _ Dāvid  to _ say  were _ the_ men_ of  Yāⱱēsh/(Jabesh)  those _ who  they _ buried  DOM   Shāʼūl/(Saul) .
  5  and _  Dāvid  _ sent  messengers  to  the _ people_ of  Yāⱱēsh  and _ he/it _ said  to _ them  be _ blessed  you(pl)  to/for _ YHWH   that  you(pl) _ have_ done  the _ kindness  the _ this  with  master _ of_ your(pl)  with  Shāʼūl  and _ buried  DOM _ him/it .
  6  And _ now  may _ he_ do  YHWH   to _ you(pl)  covenant _ loyalty  and _ faithfulness  and _ also  I  I _ will_ do  to _ you(pl)  the _ good  the _ same  that  you(pl) _ have_ done  the _ thing  the _ this .
  7  And _ now  hands _ of_ your(pl)  let _ them_ be_ strong  and _ be  as _ men _ of  strength  if/because  master _ of_ your(pl)  he _ has_ died  Shāʼūl  and _ also  DOM _ me  the _ house_ of  they _ have_ anointed  of _ Yə hūdāh/(Judah)  as _ king  over _ them .
  8  and _ ʼAⱱnēr  the _ son_ of  Nēr  the _ commander_ of  the _ army  which  to _ Shāʼūl’s  he _ had_ taken  DOM   Ish-  bshet  the _ son_ of  Shāʼūl  and _ brought _ over_ him  Maḩₐnāyim .

  12  and _  ʼAⱱnēr  _ he/it _ went_ out  the _ son_ of  Nēr  and _ servants _ of  Ish-  bshet  the _ son_ of  Shāʼūl/(Saul)  from _ Maḩₐnāyim  Giⱱˊōn _ to .
  13  And _ Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab)  the _ son_ of  Tsə rūyāh /(Zeruiah)  and _ servants _ of  Dāvid  they _ went_ out  and _ met _ them  at  the _ pool_ of  Giⱱˊōn  together  and _ they _ lived  these _  at  the _ pool  on _ one  and _ these  at  the _ pool  on _ the _ other_ side .
  14  And _  ʼAⱱnēr  _ he/it _ said  to  Yōʼāⱱ  let _ them_ arise  please  the _ young _ men  and _ fight  in _ front _ of_ us  and _  Yōʼāⱱ  _ he/it _ said  let _ them_ arise .
  15  And _ came _ forward  and _ passed  in/on/at/with _ counted  two _ plus  ten  for _ Binyāmīn  and _ for _ Ish-  bshet  the _ son_ of  Shāʼūl  and _ two  ten  of _ servants _ of  of _ Dāvid .
  16  And _ grabbed  each  in/on/at/with _ head _ of  his/its _ neighbour  and _ sword _ of_ his  in/on/at/with _ side _ of  his/its _ neighbour  and _ they _ fell  together  and _ he/it _ called  to _ the_ place  (the) _ that  Helkath  Hazzurim  which  in/on/at/with _ Giⱱˊōn .
  17  And _ it _ became  the _ battle  severe  up _ to  muchness  in _ the_ day  (the) _ that  and _  ʼAⱱnēr  _ defeated  and _ men _ of  Yisrāʼēl /(Israel)  to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/before  the _ servants_ of  Dāvid .
  18  And _ they _ were  there  three  the _ sons_ of  Tsə rūyāh   Yōʼāⱱ  and _ ʼAⱱīshay  and _ ˊAsāhʼēl   and _ ˊAsāhʼēl   was _ swift  in/on/at/with _ foot _ of_ his  like _ one  the _ gazelles  which  in/on/at/with _ wild .
  19  And _  ˊAsāhʼēl   _ pursued  after  ʼAⱱnēr  and _ not  he _ turned_ aside  to _ go  to  the _ right  and _ to  the _ left  from _ following  ʼAⱱnēr .
  20  And _  ʼAⱱnēr  _ looked  behind _ him  and _ he/it _ said  you  is _ this  Oh _ ˊAsāhʼēl   and _ he/it _ said  I .
  21  And _ he/it _ said  to _ him/it  ʼAⱱnēr  turn _ aside  to/for _ yourself(m)  to  right _ of_ your  or  to  left _ of_ your  and _ seize  to/for _ yourself(m)  one  of _ the _ young _ men  and _ take  to/for _ yourself(m)  DOM   spoil _ of_ his  and _ not  ˊAsāhʼēl   he _ was_ willing  to _ turn _ aside  from _ following _ him .
  22  And _ repeated  again  ʼAⱱnēr  to _ say  to  ˊAsāhʼēl   turn _ aside  to/for _ yourself(m)  from _ following _ me  to/for _ what  strike _ you  towards _ land  and _ how  will _ I_ lift_ up  face _ of_ my  to  Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab)  your(ms) _ brother/kindred .
  23  And _ refused  to _ turn _ away  and _ struck _ him  ʼAⱱnēr  in/on/at/with _ butt _ of  the _ spear  into  the _ stomach  and _ came _ out  the _ spear  at _ back _ his  and _ fell  there  and _ he/it _ died  on _ the_ spot_ he [fn ]  and _ he/it _ was  every _ of  the _ came  to  the _ place  where  he _ fell  there  ˊAsāhʼēl   and _ he/it _ died  and _ stood _ still .
  24  And _  Yōʼāⱱ  _ pursued  and _ ʼAⱱīshay  after  ʼAⱱnēr  and _ the _ sun  it _ set  and _ they  they _ came  to  the _ hill_ of  ʼAmmāh  which  is _ on  the _ face_ of  Giyaaḩ  the _ way_ of  the _ wilderness_ of  Giⱱˊōn .
  25  And _  the _ descendants_ of  _ rallied  of _ Binyāmīn  behind  ʼAⱱnēr  and _ they _ were  as _ band  one  and _ took _ stand  on  the _ top_ of  a _ hill  one .
  26  And _  ʼAⱱnēr  _ he/it _ called  to  Yōʼāⱱ  and _ he/it _ said  for _ ever  will _ it_ devour  the _ sword  am _ not  do _ you_ know  if/because _ that  bitter  it _ will_ be  in/on/at/with _ end  and _ unto  when  not  will _ you_ say  to _ the_ people  to _ turn  from _ pursuing  brothers _ of_ their .

  30  And _ Yōʼāⱱ  he _ returned  from _ pursuing  ʼAⱱnēr  and _ gathered _ together  DOM   all _ of  the _ people  and _ missing  of _ servants _ of  of _ Dāvid  nine-  teen  man  and _ ˊAsāh-  ʼēl  .
  31  And _ servants _ of  Dāvid  they _ had_ struck_ down  of _ Binyāmīn  and _ in/on/at/with _ men _ of  ʼAⱱnēr  three  hundred(s)  and _ sixty  man  they _ had_ died .
  32  And _ took _ up  DOM   ˊAsāhʼēl   and _ buried _ him  in/on/at/with _ tomb _ of  his/its _ father  which  was _ Bēyt-  leḩem  and _  all _ of  _ marched  the _ night  Yōʼāⱱ  and _ men _ of_ his  and _ broke  to/for _ them  in/on/at/with _ Ḩeⱱrōn .
