Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #299693

← יֹאכְלֵם ⌂ → Isa 51 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 8 If/because like_garment it_will_eat_them moth and_like_wool it_will_eat_them clothes-moth and_righteousness_of_my forever_perpetuity it_will_be and_salvation_of_my to_a_generation_of generations. (ISA 51:8)

OET-RV: 8 because moths will eat them like a piece of clothing,
⇔ and their larva will devour them like they do with wool.
⇔ However, I will only ever do what is right,
⇔ and when I save you, you’ll be free throughout the generations. (ISA 51:8)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘יֹאכְלֵם’ (Morphology=Vqi3ms PoS=qal_verb Type=imperfect_(yiqtol) Person=third Gender=masculine Number=singular
