Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #71028

← כַּאֲשֶׁר ⌂ → Num 17 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 5  a_memorial for_the_people_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) so_that that not a_man strange who not is_one_of_the_offspring_of ʼAhₐron he he_may_draw_near to_make_smoke incense to_(the)_face_of/in_front_of/before YHWH and_not he_will_be like_Qoraḩ and_like_company_of_his just_as YHWH he_had_spoken by_the_hand_of Mosheh to_him/it. (NUM 17:5)

OET-RV: 40 for a memorial for the Israelis just as Yahweh had told him via Mosheh. That’s a reminder that no one who’s not a descendant of Aharon is allowed to approach Yahweh with incense burners, so they don’t end up like Korah and his supporters. (NUM 16:40)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘כַּאֲשֶׁר’ (Morphology=R PoS=preposition
 Morphology=Tr PoS=relative_particle)
is always and only glossed as ‘just_as’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘כְּ’, ‘אֲשֶׁר’’ have only one gloss: ‘just=as’.
