Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #127437

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 4 And_they_rose_early in_morning from_the_next_day and_BEHOLD/LO/SEE Dāgōn was_lying to_face_of_its towards_land to_(the)_face_of/in_front_of/before the_box_of YHWH and_the_head_of Dāgōn and_the_two_of the_palms_of its_hands_of_his were_cut_off to the_threshold only Dāgōn it_remained on/upon/above_him/it. OET-RV: 4 But then the next morning, more shock: Dagon had fallen to the ground on its face in front of Yahweh’s box but now its hands and head were cut off, and were lying on the threshhold. Only its body remained intact. (SA1 5:4)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
