10:16 The coming persecution

(Mark 13:9-13, Luke 21:12-17)

16[ref]Look out, because I’m sending you out like sheep among the wolves, so you’ll all need to be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. 17[ref]But watch out because there’s people that will turn you in to the councils and then you’ll be flogged in their meeting halls. 18You’ll be stood before governors and even kings on my account, but it’ll be a testimony to them and to the non-Jews. 19However, whenever they turn you in, you don’t need to worry about what to say or how to say it, because whatever you all need to say will be given to you at the right time, 20because you won’t be the ones speaking, but it’ll be your father’s spirit speaking through you.

21[ref]One sibling will turn in another to be executed, and a father his child, and children will be rebelling against their parents and having them put to death. 22[ref]You all will be hated by everyone because of my name, but the ones who endure until the end, they are the ones who will be saved. 23Whenever they persecute you in one city, escape to the next city, because I can assure you that you won’t get through all the cities in Israel before humanity’s child comes.

24[ref]An apprentice is not above their teacher, nor is a slave above their master. 25[ref]The apprentice is happy to eventually become like their teacher, and the slave to become like their master. If they accuse the home owner of being a devil, then that will apply to his followers even more.

16Behold, I am_sending_ you_all _out as sheep in the_midst of_wolves, therefore be_becoming shrewd as the serpents and innocent as the doves.
17But be_taking_heed of the people, because/for they_will_be_giving_ you_all _over into councils, and they_will_be_flogging you_all in the synagogues of_them, 18and you_all_will_be_being_brought before governors and also kings on_account me, because/for a_testimony to_them and to_the pagans.
19But whenever they_may_give_ you_all _over, you_all_may_ not _worry how or what you_all_may_speak, because/for what you_all_may_speak will_be_being_given to_you_all in that the hour.
20For/Because you_all are not the ones speaking, but the spirit of_the father of_you_all which speaking in you_all.
21And brother will_be_giving_over brother to death, and father child, and children will_be_rising_up against parents, and they_will_be_putting_ them _to_death.
22And you_all_will_be being_hated by all because_of the name of_me, but the one having_endured to the_end, this one will_be_being_saved.
23But whenever they_may_be_persecuting you_all in the this city, be_fleeing to the next, because/for, truly I_am_saying to_you_all, by_no_means you_all_may_ not _finish the cities of_the Israaʸl/(Yisəʼēl), until the son of_ the _man may_come.
24A_apprentice/follower is not above the teacher, nor a_slave above the master of_him.
25it_is Sufficient for_the apprentice/follower that he_may_become as the teacher of_him, and the slave as the master of_him.
If they_called the home_owner Beʼelzeboul, to_how_much more the household of_him?
