6 Then the Amoni leaders realised that they’d now caused David to despise them, so they hired twenty thousand Aramean (or Arami (Syrian) ) mercenaries from Beyt -Rehov and Tsovah, and another one thousand from Ma’akah and twelve thousand from Tov.
