Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #35401

← וְהִגִּישׁוֹ ⌂ → Exo 21 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 6 And_he_will_bring_him_near master(s)_of_his to the_ʼElohīm and_he_will_bring_him_near to the_door or to the_doorpost and_ master(s)_of_his _he_will_pierce DOM ear_of_his with_awl and_he_will_serve_him to_vanishing_point. (EXO 21:6)

OET-RV: 6 then his master must take him to the place of worship. He must bring him to a door or to a doorpost, and his master must bore a hole his ear with an awl. Then he must serve him for life. (EXO 21:6)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.
