Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #302160

← וּפִתְּחוּ ⌂ → Isa 60 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 11 And_ gates_of_your _they_will_be_open continually by_day and_night not they_will_be_shut to_bring to_you the_wealth_of nations and_kings_of_their led. (ISA 60:11)

OET-RV: 11 Then your city gates will be always open—
 ⇔ ≈ they won’t be shut day or night,
 ⇔ so the wealth from other nations can be brought to you,
 ⇔ with their kings being led captive. (ISA 60:11)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘וּפִתְּחוּ’ (Morphology=C PoS=conjunction
 Morphology=Vpq3cp PoS=piel_verb Type=sequential_perfect_(weqatal) Person=third Gender=common Number=plural)
is always and only glossed as ‘and, they_will_be_open’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘וְ’, ‘פָּתַח’’ have only one gloss: ‘and,they_will_be_open’.
