ULT REV Chapter 13

REV 13 ©

13And I saw a beast coming up from the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns were ten crowns, and on its heads was a blasphemous name.[fn] 2And the beast that I saw was like a leopard and its feet were as of a bear and its mouth was as the mouth of a lion, and the dragon gave to it his power and his throne and great authority. 3And one of its heads was as if it had been slain unto death, but its wound of death had been healed. And the whole earth was astonished after the beast, 4and they worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who is able to war with it?” 5And to it was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and authority was given to it to act for 42 months. 6And it opened its mouth unto blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle, the ones tabernacling in heaven. 7And to it was granted to make war with the saints and to conquer them, and authority was given to it over every tribe and people and language and nation. 8And all the ones living on the earth will worship it, of whom his name has not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb having been slain from the foundation of the world. 9If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10If anyone is for captivity, he departs; if anyone will be killed by the sword, it is necessary for him to be killed by the sword. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

11And I saw another beast coming up from the earth, and it had two horns like a lamb but it was speaking like a dragon. 12And it exercises all the authority of the first beast before it, and it makes the earth and the ones living on it that they will worship the first beast, of whom his wound of death had been healed. 13And it does great signs, so that it might even cause fire to come down from heaven to the earth before men. 14And it deceives the ones living on the earth through the signs that have been granted to it to do before the beast, telling the ones living on the earth to make an image to the beast that has the wound of the sword and has lived. 15And it was granted to it to give breath to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause whoever does not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16And it causes everyone, the small and the great and the rich and the poor and the free and the slave, that they might give to them a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17and that no one would be able to buy or to sell except the one having the mark, the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18Here is wisdom: The one having understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast. For it is the number of a man, and its number is 666.

Some manuscripts include Then he stood on the sand of the seashore at the beginning of this verse, but the best manuscripts include it as 12:18.
