The Lamp of the Body

The Lamp of the Body

(Luke 11:33–36)

The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good,[fn] your whole body will be full of light. 23But if your eyes are bad,[fn] your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great [is] that darkness!

24

No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to [the] one and despise the other. You cannot serve [both] God and money.

25

6:22 Literally If your eye is sound; see Proverbs 22:9.

6:23 Literally if your eye is evil; see Proverbs 23:6 and Proverbs 28:22.
