Ezekiel 15

15 Then the word of Yahweh was to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, what will be of the wood of the vine from every tree, of the branch that was among the trees of the forest? 3 Is wood be taken from it to make for work? Or do they take from it a peg to hang on it any vessel? 4 Look! To the fire it is given as food. Two of its ends the fire consumes, and its middle is burned. Will it succeed for work? 5 Look! When it was whole, it was not made for work. How much more so when the fire has consumed it and it is burned? Will it still be made for work?

6 Therefore, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Just like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given it to the fire as food, so I have given the dwellers of Jerusalem. 7 So I will put my face against them. From the fire, they went out, but the fire will consume them. Then you will know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them. 8 And I will make the land a desolation, because they violated a violation”—the declaration of the Lord Yahweh.
