SORGHUM*

Medium to stout annual grass growing over six feet (1.8 meters) tall; perhaps the “hyssop” to which the sponge of vinegar was attached during Jesus’ crucifixion (Mt 27:48; Mk 15:36; Jn 19:29). See Plants (Hyssop).
